WSU Graduation, Mother's Day

I have to say that this is a weekend to remember!  My youngest child graduated with a degree in Accounting on Saturday, May 10, 2014 and to make the event even better, he received a job offer on the Friday before!  Ashleigh and Evan were in town for the event and it was topped off by getting to spend part of the day with all three "kids" on Sunday.  This was a great weekend.  This is a great feeling.  To have both of your children gainfully employed with great degrees in their pockets!  Wahoo for us!

First Full Week of Work

Its almost the end of the first week of classes at WSU ... and it was busy as usual.  It was soooo nice to have 11 days off over the Christmas break, and I got quite a bit done in organizing, cleaning out schtuff, hanging decor, etc.  Lots of things that have been simmering on the back burner.  Still lots of good things cooking there, but they are still on simmer :-)  I stressed out about all the business bills and TAXES due in January for the business, and not to mention that I am very far behind in the business books, but it will get done.  I have made a resolution to blog more.  To detail my life and that of my "significant" others including my children.  I also resolved to get in shape for my beautiful daughter's wedding in September.  I have not missed one (okay, I missed two days) of working out with my gal Jillian.  Yes, Jillian from The Biggest Loser.  Love her DVDs and they only take 20 minutes (some are longer -- 35 minutes) of your day.  Yes, you can afford 20 minutes.  I thought I couldn't, but I have found those 20 long minutes.  Even on Fridays, which are typical "date nights" for me and the hubbster.  So in Nike's words ... JUST DO IT.  I also have a quote taped to the top of my work monitor so I can see it everyday ... "A year from now, you will wish you had started today."  Yes.  True.  And I want to look great in September.  Pictures will be added to the blog soon.  And hopefully, those bloggers out there will help me in getting sponsors ...

Brrrrr....

7 degrees.  No, its not a band name, or a drink name, or a song title.  Its t.h.a.t. COLD outside right now.  I don't remember it being this cold this time last year.  Guess if I would blog a little more, I might be able to keep track of what is going on.  I resolve to blog more.  and to add pictures to my blog to make it more interesting.  Its finding the time to do all of that.  When you work full-time and do the books for our business in the evening, it makes it hard to fit it all in.  I also am resolving to lose weight for my daughter's wedding in September.  And to craft more.  And to be better organized.  So on that note, I am going to bed.  But, I did my Jillian Michaels workouts for two days now.  And I am starting to feel them, and thats a good thing.  Goodnight.

Wedding Dress Shopping

Ashleigh and I went to the Bridalfest in Spokane this weekend and ended up do a "little dress try-on" at the spur of the moment.  We stopped at A Finer Moment and she slipped a few dresses on just to see what she liked.  It helped a bunch to determine which "silhouette, neck line, style" she liked.  Most bridal stores require you to have an appointment for private "showings/try-on" but we thought we would stop in just to see if we could and they were very accomodating!  It was fun, but we have a whole weekend schedule for dress shopping in November ... and I can't wait to see my beautiful daughter in beautiful wedding dresses!

Bronco Berry Sauce

I found recipes for the Arby's Bronco Berry Sauce, but I don't want to go through that much work.  Here's my plan to "copycat" the recipe without the work of the online recipes I found.  Smuckers Red Raspberry SEEDLESS jam and jalapeno juice from a jar of preserved jalapenos ... add enough juice to get a syrup consistency while cooking the jam ... will let you know the outcome!

Almost a year later ...

Yep, looked at my blog yesterday and saw that it is almost a year ago since I wrote my last entry.  Well, that just goes to show you that "time" stops for no one.  hummmph.   Why not?  Why can't I have more time in my day.  Oh, yeah, we just lost an hour to stupid daylight savings time.  Again, why?  Nevermind, no use dwelling on it and wasting more time on lost time!

We have had a lot of changes in the last year ... bought property on Lake Coeur d'Alene and a new boat last spring.  Its been a year since that has happened.  A year ago ... wow.  Still no luck on selling the house, but oh well I rather like my house, but it is so big for the two of us.  I keep telling myself, the kids will be back with their kids and we will wish we had a big house all over again.  So maybe its for the best.  Since we haven't sold it, we decided to sort of remodel the master bedroom.  Found great ideas on Pinterest, my newest addiction while watching TV.  Board & Batten is the look.  Will post some pictures of the bedroom soon.  The hubster is close to having it done ... and I can't wait to get to break out the new bedding and curtains!  Well, thats all the time I have for now ...

70 degrees yesterday ... here today ... gone tomorrow!

Yep.  Hit 70.  First time since September, I think.  And its the middle of M.A.Y.  Keep telling myself that its just around the corner ... really it. is.  Optimistic.  Helps that I am heading to HAWAII in a few days for a much needed vaca with my hubby of 25 years (August) and my two GREAT children.  Well, young adults ... my friends now :-]  Worked hard all last night to get the house ready for the realtor's tour.  Still have a lot of things to clean *deeply* but that can wait for now and of course move around.  I am OCD when it comes to decorating.  I often find myself sitting on the couch dreaming of ways I can re-arrange.  Bad habit, but fun nonetheless.
